Louis Vuitton Multipass Launch
Developed under Louis Vuitton’s creative director Nicolas Ghesquière, who is known for introducing contemporary silhouettes that reinterpret the house’s historic codes, the Multipass debuted as part of the brand’s Cruise 2026 collection.
The bag was unveiled in Avignon, France, during Louis Vuitton’s Cruise 2026 show, where it appeared alongside other pieces from the collection. And from its first sighting, the Multipass stood out for its distinctive mix of classic Louis Vuitton codes with a decidedly modern design.
Interestingly, Louis Vuitton describes the Multipass as taking cues from the Express handbag, a newer design that debuted just a few months earlier for Fall-Winter 2025. Though I’d say that the Express has a more polished and structured feel, while the Multipass takes a softer, more relaxed approach. And that laid-back character is arguably one of the things that makes the Multipass so appealing to begin with.

At first glance, the Multipass falls into the same category as the Louis Vuitton Carryall, Slouchy and Lineup bags.
Though I wouldn’t be so quick to jump to conclusions. A single top handle allows the Multipass to be carried by hand or on the forearm, while a removable, adjustable shoulder strap enables both over the shoulder and crossbody wear.
Then there’s the detail that arguably gives the Multipass its distinctive look: a removable braided gold-toned chain. Decorative without feeling overly ornate, the chain adds a touch of glamour to the otherwise relaxed silhouette while also turning the Multipass into a style that works for a variety of occasions.

The regular size is designed to accommodate an 11-inch tablet, making it the more practical choice for everyday.
The Multipass Mini, on the other hand, is much more compact and is designed for carrying of smaller essentials, such as a smartphone, sunglasses, a compact wallet, keys and lipstick. It has the same distinctive design language as its larger counterpart, but its smaller proportions give it a more playful, fashion-forward feel.
Materials & Colors
Louis Vuitton has introduced the Multipass in a growing selection of materials and colorways, ranging from the house’s signature Monogram canvas to smooth calfskin option.
The classic Monogram version combines the instantly recognizable LV canvas with natural cowhide leather trim, while the leather versions offer a more understated take on the silhouette.
The color selection is also becoming increasingly diverse. Is the Multipass the next LV it-bag?
This is what everyone wants to know.
Want to know my honest opinion? I think the Multipass has the potential to carve out a spot alongside some of Louis Vuitton’s newer, more relaxed everyday designs, such as the CarryAll, Slouchy and Lineup bags. But will it be the next Louis Vuitton It bag? Probably not. And honestly, I don’t think it’s trying to be one.
The Multipass feels designed for people who value practicality and versatility. A fashion girlie might be drawn to its relaxed silhouette and distinctive braided chain, but she isn’t necessarily going to care about the many ways the bag can be worn.
For a traditional Louis Vuitton customer, however, versatility has always been part of the appeal. Being able to carry the Multipass by hand, over the shoulder or with its signature chain makes it an easy, everyday choice.
And perhaps that’s exactly where the Multipass belongs: not as Louis Vuitton’s next mega It bag, but as one of its newer go-to everyday handbags.
Is LV Multipass Worth it?
If you’re someone who values practicality, I think the Louis Vuitton Multipass is worth considering.
It offers plenty of room for daily essentials, multiple ways to wear it and a distinctive design without feeling overly trendy. That said, at nearly $3,000 for the Monogram version, it’s not an impulse purchase—and if you’re looking for a true Louis Vuitton icon or an investment bag, I’d stick with one of the house’s established classics.
